Plastic Crisis – Avoiding Plastic Wrap

This is the season for watermelon! In prior years, I generally cut it and put some plastic wrap across the portion I was putting back in the refrigerator. This year – I thought about an alternative…. wanting to avoid single use plastic entirely.

My solution: turn the watermelon upside down on a tray! So simple. If the juice leaks a little, the tray will hold it, so it is better than plastic wrap from that perspective.  I found myself wondering why I didn’t think of this before.
